Visit the only
National Park on the island, connect with the flora and fauna in a must walk
through the most beautiful scenery! Tierra
del Fuego National Park
is located only 11 km.
away from the city. We may appreciate within its limits lakes, lagoons and
rivers, and their exit towards Beagle Channel, characteristic that
differentiates it from the other national parks of our country. From the port,
through the Maipú Avenue towards the southwest by the national route nr.3,
drive out of town to get to the slopes of Monte Susana, witness the work of the
convicts of the old prison, where the Southern Fuegian Railway station is
located. Here we will stop for this optional tour. Passengers who do not take
the train “Fin del Mundo” will visit the Bahia Ensenada area where we can
contemplate the Islands Redonda and Estorbo and in the other coast of the
Beagle Channel, Montes Nevados in the Sampaio Chain (Chile). After the train, we take
the road nro.3 together again, on a narrow path that shows the different
species of our local flora, arriving at Roca
Lake to do a walk around Lake and the Lapataia River, the natural outlet of the same.
From this point the landscape presides Cerro Condor, on whose peak passes the
border with the Rep. of Chile. We will go to the other end of the park, where
national route nro.3 ends in Lapataia
Bay. Finally we will pass
by the beaver dams, whose footpath will lead to Lapataia Bay.
